LG launches its first Firefox OS handset with a transparent body

KDDI and Mozilla have partnered together in order to introduce the Fx0 handset

LG rolled out its most-awaited Firefox OS handset model ‘Fx0’, with a transparent body and a golden Firefox logo on its home button. 

GSMArena also stated that the 4.7-inch Fx0 Firefox smartphone is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and comes with 1.5GB of RAM.

Recent reports also state that the LG Fx0 handset runs on the 2.0 version of Firefox OS and boasts of 16GB of onboard storage capacity. KDDI has also introduced the Edge Gesture feature that enables horizontal swipe on the Fx0 device.

The new Firefox OS update on the LG Fx0 device supports NFC, 4G LTE and WebRTC as well. This device weighs around 148 grams and is fuelled by a 2,370mAh battery. KDDI (Japanese telecommunications operator) and Mozilla have partnered together to introduce the Fx0 handset, which is manufactured by LG and designed by Tokujin Yoshioka.

‘We’re excited to work with partners like KDDI to create the Web of Things (WoT), which connects all types of devices using Web technology and enables many new innovative and custom experiences to be created across these connected devices, and this is just the first step’, stated Mozilla on its blog.

The LG Fx0 will only be available by KDDI in the Japanese market, but is expected to arrive in the Indian market soon. The transparent body of Fx0 is quite attractive and makes it stand out in the smartphone market.
