1 killed, 36 injured in two bus mishaps in Tiruchy district
Private bus collides with lorry
Tiruchy: One person was killed and 36 others injured in two separate road accidents in Tiruchy district since Wednesday. Police said that one person was killed on the spot and four passengers of a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) injured when the bus hit a roadside tree, after the driver lost the control of the vehicle at Peramangalam under Pulivalam police limits near Tiruchy on Thursday.
Police said that the deceased was identified as Prabharan, driver of the bus. The injured were admitted to the government hospital at Thuraiyur.In an another accident, 32 passengers of a private bus proceeding to Namakkal from Tiruchy collided with a lorry which came in the opposite direction, at Meikkalnaickenpatti village on the Tiruchy-Namakkal highway near Tiruchy on Thursday. Police said that the injured were admitted to the government hospital at Thottiam, from where three women were referred to the government hospital at Namakkal, police said.
