KOLKATA: After Trinamul Congress leader Anubrata Mondal, BJP leader Doodh Kumar Mondal courted controversy by threatening to cut the hands of political opponents if BJP workers were attacked. Mr Anubrata Mondal is Trinamul Birbhum district president and Mr D.K Mondal is his BJP counterpart.

Addressing a rally at Birbhum’s Rampurhat, Mr D.K Mondal on Thursday said: “I want to tell Trinamul goons that they should not raise hands to attack BJP workers. We do not want violence but if they do not exercise restraint then BJP workers would cut off your hands,” he thundered.

Reacting sharply, Mr Anubrata Mondal said that Trinamul Congress workers hands were made of steel which could not be cut off. “The BJP is trying to foment riots in Birbhum,” he alleged.
