KOLKATA: A powerful Trinamul Congress woman trade union leader has now come under the scanner for her alleged role in the Saradha chit fund scam.
Enforcement Directorate and CBI may soon summon her for questioning.

Several Trinamul Congress leaders including two Rajya Sabha MPs Kunal Ghosh and Srinjoy Bose and transport minister Madan Mitra havealready been arrested and several others are likely to be quizzed by the Central investigating agencies soon.

Sources said that the name of this powerful woman leader came up frequently during the investigation of the multi-crore scam case.

According to sources, famous painter Suvaprasanna during his questioning by the ED claimed that this trade union leader and former student leader Sankudeb Panda were attached to the news channel which he sold to Saradha Group chairman Sudipta Sen.

Both Mr Panda and the labour leader have allegedly been beneficiaries of Saradha largesses. Mr Suvaprasanna reportedly sold the channel which had not even become operational to Mr Sen at an astronomical price. Sources said that the CBI also learnt about this woman trade union leader’s involvement in transactions with Saradha Group.
