Two held for aiding Maoists

Accused were aware of activity and supplied materials to make arms

Vijayawada: Two persons working in a foundry in Autonagar were arrested by Eluru police for allegedly helping a man who was making guns for Maoists. A week ago, Y. Sarath Kumar of Sullurupeta in Nellore, was caught red-handed while making guns in his room in Autonagar  with materials  procured from foundries in Autonagar.  

On investigation, the police found that G. Siva Nagaraju, owner of Lakshmi Durga Engineering works in Autonagar,  and Anthony, a worker in the foundry, were supplying material to Sarath Kumar.  Police took Nagaraju and Anthony into custody and  seized models and designs of guns, cartridges and other material from Sarath Kumar’s room.The  duo allegedly were aware of Sarath Kumar’s activities and supplied him with the necessary   material like springs, metal plates etc.

Sarath Kumar supplied arms to leaders of CPI (ML)-new democracy who were arrested by Eluru police earlier. A case was booked and is being investigated, said police officials.
