Government to ease procedures for starting companies
Amending laws would also attract investments in the country
Tirupur: Commerce and industries minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the Central government would soon simplify the procedures for registration of companies and factories.The minister, who was in Tirupur on Saturday, responded to the demand of the CII Tirupur and announced that the procedures for registration of companies would be made hassle-free soon.The Union minister who launched the Make in India campaign of the Tirupur textile industry, asked exporters to brand their products for better presence in the international market..
“Tirupur industrialists have always been a self propelled group; However, it has not succeeded when it comes to branding the industries. There is also a need to brand the entrepreneurship skills,” she said.
Laws amended to promote biusiness environment: Nirmala Sitharaman
Economic reforms and amendments to laws are being carried out to attract investments and ease the business environment in India, said minister of state for commerce and industry Nirmala Sitharaman. “Unnecessary regulations and archaic laws in every sector are identified and removed to facilitate doing business,” the minister said, speaking with journalists on the sidelines of ‘Make in India Textile Industry Opportunities and Challenges’ organised by the associations and forums of textile industry in TN here on Saturday.
On the resumption of free trade agreement with European Union, Nirmala Sitharaman said that negotiations have to happen in this regard with the countries of European Union. “Unlike emerging markets like India and China which are growing at five percent rate, the EU countries like Germany have registered not more than one per cent growth and are in a difficult phase. It needs to be understood if our manufacturers will derive any benefit out of this FTA,” she said.
The Centre has been making all out efforts to work in tandem with the state governments to ease business. “All the states have been invited to participate in a meet on Monday to present their views on the steps that needs to be taken to promote business environment,” Nirmala Sitharaman. Listing out the achievements of BJP government, the minister said that there has been 98.95 per cent household coverage under the Jan-Dhan Yojana scheme in Coimbatore and 98.48 per coverage in the Tirupur district.
“Further, RUPAY debit cards to avail insurance benefits have been distributed to 84.89 per cent individual account holders in Coimbatore and 78.14 per cent account holders in Tirupur. The scheme has been evoking good response even in non BJP ruled states. Our target is to ensure full coverage by January 26,” she said. The union government has been in the process of digitizing all trade data to reduce transaction costs for companies. Advisor of Tamil Nadu textile industries T.R. Ramanathan reiterated that the government should set up training centres in villages to produce skilled labours.
