Gold futures weaken on global cues

Gold futures down by 0.23 per cent to Rs 27,248 per 10 grams

New Delhi: Gold futures fell by 0.23 per cent to Rs 27,248 per 10 grams, as participants indulgedin reducing exposures, largely in line with a global trend. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in far-month April contracts eased by Rs 62, or 0.23 per cent, to trade at Rs 27,248 per 10 grams in a turnover of  just one  lot. 

On similar lines, gold for delivery in February contracts shed Rs 44, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 27,029 per ten grams. Globally, gold lost as much as 0.30 per cent to USD 1,192.55 an ounce in Singapore. 

Analysts said a weakening trend overseas as dollar's  strength curbs demand for the precious metal, weighed on gold  prices at futures trade here.
