For the last one year, Balakrishna and Nagarjuna haven’t come face to face at any function or event. Even if they were at the same event, they would avoid  each other.

Recently,  Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya visited Harikrishna’s house, to offer their condolences following the death of his son Janakiram.

The cold war  between the  two families  started at the felicitation of Akkineni Nageswara Rao, a year back. T. Subbarami Reddy had organised the function to honour ANR, but the invitation card didn’t have Balakrishna’s photo.

“Though it was organised by TSR, the ANR family should have checked the invitation card for the  photograph of Balakrishna.

Both families were very close, when  the late NTR was alive. They invited each other to all their functions. But this time they ignored Balakrishna,” says the source.

Before the function, the Akkineni family discovered the fault and reprinted a few cards and sent them only to Balakrishna’s family.

This irked Balakrishna more and he decided to skip the function. Balakrishna’s brother Mohan Krishna attended the function, but the Akkineni family and TSR ignored him and didn’t bother to call him on the dais with others.

After a couple of days, Nagarjuna attempted to pacify Balakrishna and visited him. Balakrishna instructed his household that Nagarjuna be told that he was out.

“Producer Ashwini Dutt tried to  mediate  between the  two families, but Balakrishna didn’t budge, as he was waiting for a call from ANR. That never happened,” says the source.

On the other hand, Nagarjuna met Harikrishna and asked him to resolve the issue. Harikrishna called his brother, but Balakrishna told him that their brother was ignored   at the function.

From then onwards Balakrishna  decided not to attend any event of the Akkineni family. “That’s why, he didn’t attend  ANR’s funeral as well,” says the source.
