It’s a common belief that our law enforcers are at times callous, but the following story disproves the fallacy. My brother, Hardhik Sai, 10, lost his cycle a couple of months back.

One evening, he found his cycle with someone and  followed him. Accompanied by my mom, he went up to the bicycle thief and an argument ensued. The accused spoke rudely. I advised my mom to call the police initially. I felt that the police wouldn’t pay attention to such trivial issues.

But to my surprise, a cop arrived within a few minutes. Along with the cop, we went to the house of the accused who then asked my brother and the accused to mention a few identification marks on the cycle. My brother recalled specific marks.

After a prolonged investigation, they booked a case against the culprit. I don’t know the name of the constable at the police station, but the ACP’s name is Sanjeeva and one other cop who helped was S. Venkanna.

This incident opened my eyes. I now  have complete confidence in our police force and am feeling proud of them. This may be a small  incident, but to me, it’s of great significance.
