In AP, there are 196 IAS officers. After the provisional allotment, the officers continued to work in the same states. And, in the latest allocation, 52 IAS officers who were working in AP have been allotted to Telangana. Meanwhile, 31 IAS officers who are working in Telangana were allotted to AP. The AP government thus paid the salaries and allowances for the extra 21 IAS officers since June 2, though they actually belonged to Telangana.
In case of IPS and IFS too, the situation is the same.
Meanwhile, the final allocation of state cadre officers has not been done yet. According to Telangana employees’ association leaders, 19,000 Telangana employees in the Secretariat and head of the departments are working in AP state. Among them, around 14,000 employees will go to Telangana. The AP government is paying salaries to these 14000 employees since June 2.
