5 killed as lorry rams into car

Hyderabad: Five persons, including a four-year-girl, died, while a seven-year-old girl suffered serious injuries in a road accident near Wadapally village of Nalgonda district early on Tuesday. The mishap occurred when a lorry coming in the wrong direction rammed into the car proceeding towards Wadapally.
The deceased are Shaik Khaleel, 29, his wife Shaik Rizwana, 25, their four-year-old daughter Farhana Tabassum, driver Vijay Kumar, 32, and Khaleel’s friend, Pujala Saidulu, 21. Khaleel’s elder daughter Taj Tabassum, 6, sustained grievous injuries and was shifted to a hospital in Hyderabad. All the victims are natives of Wadapally village.
According to the police, the deceased were returning from Nalgonda town after attending Khaleel’s cousin’s wedding. They were on their way home early on Tuesday when the lorry rammed into their car near their village. The lorry driver is absconding, Wadapally sub-inspector V. Janaiah said. A case has been registered.
