Hyderabad/New Delhi: Protests against the Aamir Khan-starrer pk spread to more states on Tuesday with theatres in Assam and Odisha being vandalised.

In Hyderabad, about 20 Bajrang Dal and VHP activists protested in front of a cinema hall in Saroornagar that was screening pk and burnt posters of the film. The afternoon show was disrupted, and police stepped up security.

The protesters alleged that a few “objectionable” scenes in the film hurt the feelings of Hindus.

Saroornagar inspector K. Narsing Rao said that cops were deployed to thwart any further protests.

A police complaint was lodged by BJP workers against the makers of the film. Cops have not booked any case so far.
Elsewhere, after protests in Gujarat, MP, Mumbai and UP, protests broke out in Delhi, Odisha, Assam and Haryana. Some protesters were arrested or detained, police said.
