New villain in Tollywood
Farhad Shahnawaz talks about his role in the yet-to-be-released Tollywood film, Rey
Hyderabad: After importing quite a few from Bollywood, Tollywood seems to have found a villain in Hyderabad’s Farhad Shahnawaz, who is playing a negative role in the Sai Dharam Tej and Shraddha Das-starrer Rey.
Farhad, who was seen as Rammy in TV show Sanskaar Dharohar Apnon Ki, is also a model, who has walked for famous designers such as Manish Malhotra, Rohit Bal, J.J. Vallaya, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Vikram Phadnis and Rocky S. He, however, insists that Rey has been a major break.
Farhad says, “My character, Fandy, is a pop-star in Rey. It was for the first time that I was playing a key role in a movie, and the experience was amazing.”
About his co-stars, he says, “Sai Dharam Tej is very down-to-earth. Though I did not share any screen space with him, we used to catch up on the sets. And, Shraddha... she is a talented actress and fun to be around, both on screen and off screen. I had a lot of scenes with Shraddha.”
Farhad now looks forward to playing more negative characters. “I guess my personality suits that of a villain. So I am looking forward to playing more negative characters.”
Though the movie’s shooting was completed more than a year back, Rey is still to be released. “We have no idea why the release has been stalled. But I hope it releases soon,” he says.
