T Padma Rao, Talasani Srinivas slug it out in poster war in Secunderabad
Banners greeting public on New Year have sprung up in addition to the existing ones
Hyderabad: A flexi war has broken out in Secunderabad, the base of two ministers. Supporters of prohibition and excise minister T. Padma Rao and new commercial taxes minister T. Srinivas Yadav have erected banners, posters and buntings greeting people on New Year and Pongal.
Rashtrapati Road (Kingsway), Ghasmandi Crossroads and the road leading to Audiahnagar and other parts of the city are full of pink posters and banners put up by supporters of both leaders. Also, new banners greeting the public on the New Year have sprung up in addition to the existing ones on the road leading to Mr Rao’s house in Ashoknagar.
Mr Padma Rao and Mr Yadav stay in nearby localities — Mr Rao in Ashoknagar and Mr Yadav across the road in Audiahnagar. So, why this sudden spurt in posters? Few years back Mr Yadav had left his ancestral home and had constructed a new building in West Marredpally in Secunderabad while Mr Padma Rao continues to stay in the locality.
