Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court to constitute a special bench to decide her plea
BENGALURU: The Karnataka High Court on Thursday constituted a special bench headed by Justice C.R. Kumaraswamy to hear the criminal appeals of AIADMK chief and former Tamil Nadu chief minister J. Jayalalithaa and three others convicted in a in a disproportionate assets case.
A notification issued by the high court on its official website, stated: “The Chief Justice, High Court of Karnataka, is pleased to constitute a Special Bench of Justice C.R. Kumaraswamy for hearing the case on day-to-day basis.”
The Supreme Court, while extending the bail of Ms Jayalalithaa by four months, had asked the Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court to constitute a special bench to decide her plea expeditiously within three months.
