Tiger on prowl in Belagavi again
Big cat seen in same village where woman was killed
Belagavi: The fear-striken people of Mudgai village where a tiger recently killed a woman were in for another shock on Thursday when a tiger was reportedly sighted by family members of the dead woman.
Merely three days after the maneater was shot down, appearance of another tiger in the same place in Jamboti forest range has put the people in the vicinity in a quandary.
Members of Anupama Hanbar, who was killed by the tiger sighted the big cat when they were on their way to work in the fields Thursday afternoon.
They brought it to the notice of forest officials who contended that they found no signs of tiger movement but said, at least six tigers and three cubs live in Jamboti forest and one of them may have walked out.
According to them, the tigers living in Jamboti may have got disturbed with the entry of a maneater in the past few weeks which may have resulted in one of the tigers moving out. The authorities called on villagers not to panic asserting the tigers in Jamboti are not maneaters.
