3 new swine flu cases reported in Hyderabad
Of the 91 total cases of swine flu, 83 have been from Telangana
Hyderabad: Three fresh swine flu cases were detected in the city on Friday, taking the total tally of positive cases to 91 in both Telangana state and Andhra Pradesh since the beginning of 2014.
Meanwhile, three other H1NI patients were discharged from the Gandhi Hospital on Friday after treatment.
Of the 91 total cases of swine flu, 83 have been from Telangana. There have also been 10 deaths recorded in the state due to swine flu in the last year.
And while there had been rumours of another swine flu death at a public hospital in the city on Friday, officials denied the same.
As on Friday, two men from Hyderabad, aged 34 and 53, and a 52-year-old woman were being treated in different private hospitals for swine flu after tests confirmed they were positive.
The Indian Medical Association has issued a set of guidelines to tackle the disease and has asked people not to ignore even a mild fever.
Meanwhile, Gandhi Hospital announced on Friday that two pregnant women and a 17-month-old child have been discharged after being successfully treated for swine flu.
“All three were discharged today(Friday). All of them had responded very well to the treatment model. They were given Tamiflu,” said Dr K. Narsimhulu, professor of medicine and swine flu co-coordinator at Gandhi Hospital.
