Hyderabad: Firefighters, who are supposed to be alert while on duty, were caught on camera drinking and dancing at the Moula Ali fire station.
A group of firefighters, who were in uniform and on duty at the Moula Ali Fire station on the night of December 31, did not seem to care that they may need to respond to an emergency situation.
Around four firemen were seen drinking and gyrating to music. According to sources, a video that caught them in the act was taken on December 31 when all the fire fighters on duty were in a celebratory mood.
The four firefighters who were drinking are suspected to be leading fireman Amarnath Goud, leading fireman A. Mallesh, fireman Om Namashivaya and driver Veeraswamy.
Moula Ali station fire officer Chandrashekar Babu was not reachable on the phone, and district fire officer Papaiah’s mobile was also switched off.
But the staff at the fire station confirmed that the named men were working in same station.
Assistant district fire officer Y. Prabhakar Reddy said “I am not aware of such an incident, but if it is true, we will definitely investigate it.”
