Telugu actor Ahuti Prasad passes away at 57

He has been widely appreciated for his contribution to cinema

Mumbai: Popular Telugu actor Adusumilli Janardan Vara Prasad aka Ahuti Prasad, who has been not keeping off late passed away on Sunday morning. The actor has been undergoing treatment over the last few months, breathed his last today. Reportedly he was suffering from colon cancer for some time now and doctors had informed Ahuti's family about his deteriorating condition.

Ahuti Prasad made his debut with 'Vikram' in 1986, which also happens to be Nagarjuna's debut film. He was later offered a role in 'Aahuti' by producer Shyam Prasad and there was no looking back ever since.

He also won Nandi Award 2003 for Best Villain for the film ‘Nenu Ninnu Premistunnanu’ and Best Character Actor award for ‘Chandamama’.

Popular character artist Adusumilli Janardan Vara Prasad aka Ahuti Prasad breathed his last today. 

He was suffering from Colon Cancer from some time and the doctors have informed Ahuti Prasad’s conditions to his family couple of months back. 

Born in Krishna district, Prasad made his debut with Akkineni Nagarjuna’s ‘Vikram’ in 1986 and the film ‘Ahuti’ made him popular in Telugu cinema. 

He won two Nandi awards and Krishna Vamsi’s ‘Chandamama’ established Ahuti Prasad as popular character artist. 

Tollywood film fraternity expressed its condolences to Ahuti Prasad's family and most of them said that his place in Telugu Cinema is irreplaceable.
