Cyber crime police arrested three Nigerians and a woman from Mumbai in connection with the case.

Hyderabad: Nigerians cheated a B.Tech graduate in the name of lottery and extracted Rs 35 lakh from him. Cyber crime police arrested three Nigerians and a woman from Mumbai in connection with the case.

The victim, Mohammad Vaseeuddin, who was hoping to go abroad for a job, had taken loans from his relatives to pay the ‘charges’ the fraudsters asked him to pay to get his prize money worth Rs 5.8 crore.

The arrested people are Peter Austin, 28, Ebohon Felix Omonuwa, 26, and Uzonicha Daniel Iwenwanne, 26. The trio lives in Kondapur and Sun City, Hydershahkot.

The main accused Peter Austin’s wife Steffi Ebohon is a native of Mumbai and she helped them pull of the trick successfully. CCS DCP Pala Raju said the victim was asked to pay registration charges, tax & customs clearance charges, High Court certificate charges, RBI processing fee and other charges by the fraudsters.
