KCR, PM Modi to talk on Telangana thermal plant

Sources said Rao will seek Central clearance for forest land

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has sought an appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the proposed thermal plant in Nalgonda district.

Sources said Mr Rao will seek Central clearance for forest land for the establishment of the 7,600 MW plant.  

NTPC and TSGenco officials have informed the Chief Minister that some forest lands are part of the 7,800 acres, identified for the plant. Hence, Central nod is must before starting the project. Mr Rao had already discussed the issue with Union environment minister Prakash Javadekar.

TRS deputy floor B. Vinod Kumar said other issues like Pranahita Chevella will also be discussed.
