Rajasthan govt cancels mutation of land purchased by Robert Vadra's firm

Jaipur: The Rajasthan government has cancelled the mutation of a part of land purchased by Congress President Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra's company Skylight Hospitality Private Limited in Bikaner district, on the grounds that it was bought from fake buyers.

The I-T department has sought details of a number of official documents including sale and purchase agreements, list of sellers of the properties acquired, details of loans raised and details of the company's board meetings.

Sylight Hospitality's transaction with DLF had been under the scanner for a long time and were asked to furnish 'agreements to purchase and sale of immovable properties' since 2005-06. 

Earlier, a notice had been sent to Vadra's firm, Skylight Hospitality, seeking details of its financial and land deals. The IT department had sent a 22-point questionnaire to Skylight Hospitality which seeks detailed information about minutes of meetings, the nature of assets, purchase and sale of deeds etc.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said that the party, as promised, will not spare any wrongdoing.

Days before the assembly election, the Haryana governmentled by Congress party legitimised the land deal between Vadra and DLF. Vadra through his company M/s Skylight Hospitality in 2012, sold three acres of land in Shikhopur village, Gurgaon to DLF. The then director general, consolidation, Ashok Khemka, had declared the deal as illegal and had asked for the cancellation of mutation. While Khemka was transferred out of the office, the Haryana government earlier this week legitimised the deal.
