Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams nets Rs 6 crore as offerings

Tirumala: The incessant stream of devotees at the Tirumala temple of Lord Venkateswara led to record collections of Rs 6.03 crore in the form of offerings on the first two days of the New Year, which coincided with the auspicious Vaikunta Ekadasi and Dwadasi fete.

TTD EO, Dr D. Sambasiva Rao said that the Tirumala temple received Rs 3.22 crore on January 1 on Vaikunta Ekadasi and Rs 2.81 crore on January 2.

Thanking all departments of the TTD, the police and the vigilance wing for the successful conduct of the mega festival, the TTD EO pointed out that 1,63,080 devotees had satisfactory darshan.

While on January 1 as many as 78,003 devotees had darshan, on  January 2 a total of 85,077 devotees had darshan.

Stating that a transparent methodology was implemented in the allotment of rooms to the devotees, the TTD EO  said that on  December 31,3,528 rooms were allotted to the devotees, on January 1 – 3,448 rooms and on January 2 – 2,899 rooms, were allotted to the devotees.
