Man hurls slipper at Bihar Chief Minister at a public meeting, arrested

The incident took place at the weekly 'Janta Darbar' at CM’s residence

PatnaIn a shocking incident in Patna, a man attacked Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, hurling a slipper at him. The incident occurred when CM Manjhi was busy with the Janta Darbar at his official residence.

The security guards and police officials who were present, immediately swung into action and arrested the youth.

Amitosh, who is under police interrogation, belongs to Chappra of Saran district in Bihar. “We are interrogating the youth and trying to find out what his real intention was,” said Senior Superintendent of Police Jitendra Rana.

As per reports, the youth was disturbed after Manjhi’s series of controversial statements. He has also accused the Chief Minister of focusing more on caste issues rather than focusing on the development of the state.

“The Chief minister is focusing more on the caste issue, and he has neglected the development of the state. We are the ones suffering. I have been coming here since last two years but no one has time to listen to my complaints,” accused Amitosh said, while he was being dragged out of the CM residence.

The leaders of JD(U) has condemned the incident and has demanded immediate action against the youth who tried to throw the slipper at him.

"Such incident has no place in democracy, his allegation are not true at all because people are constantly getting justice in the Janata Durbar his allegations against the CM for dividing the state on the issue of caste is also not true", JD(U) leader Niraj Kumar said after the incident.

Earlier on Sunday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's nephew and president of Trinamool Congress's youth wing Abhishek Banerjee was slapped by a youth at a rally at Chandipur in East Midnapore district, causing an outrage in the party.
