Woman injured fighting chain snatchers

Chennai: A 36-year-old housewife suffered injuries when she fought back against chain-snatchers on a bike in T Nagar on Saturday evening. The victim, identified as Vani, was walking home in Mothilal street when two men followed her on a bike and snatched her chain.

Though she fought back and hung on to the chain, the duo managed to relieve two gold chains from her and escaped from the scene. “The woman, who was pushed down by the duo, resisted the snatchers for some time. But the pillion rider dragged her and snatched the chains from her and escaped,” the police said. In the process, Vani suffered bruises on her body, the police added.
