Woman killed by husband, his lover
During interrogation, the accused confessed that he had killed his wife
Hyderabad: A 45-year-old man and his lover have been arrested for the murder of the former’s wife. The murder came to light two months later when the police started an investigation following a complaint by the victim’s parents.
Cops exhumed the body on Monday after the accused, E. Eshaiah, who is a watchman, confessed to the crime.
Narsingi police officers said that Eshaiah had strangled his wife, E. Saiamma, 40, two months ago and had buried the body with the help of his lover, Tirumalamma.
The married couple had been living alone in their house at Gandamguda village in Narsingi.
According to Narsingi inspector P. Ramchander Rao, Tirumalamma lived in the same colony as Eshaiah.
“They developed a relationship a few years ago and his wife opposed it. In order to remove the hindrance, they strangled Saiamma and buried the body in the field secretly, and nobody noticed it till now,” he said.
“Saiamma’s parents, who inquired about her with the accused a few days ago, did not get a satisfying answer, and they approached us. We booked a missing person’s case and started investigation,” said Mr Rao.
During interrogation, the accused confessed that he had killed his wife and explained the reason. On Monday, the police went to the spot and dug out the body to conduct post-mortem examination.
Police has arrested both the culprits after booking a case against them for murder and concealing evidence.
