Amitabh Bachchan to be brand ambassador of AP health department

Hyderabad: Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan will be the brand ambassador for the medical and health department of Andhra Pradesh, health minister Kamineni Srinivas said on Monday.

"Amitabh Bachchan has agreed to be our brand ambassador. Which areas he will promote will be decided later," the minister said.

The minister had a meeting with the actor recently.

Srinivas, a BJP member in the Chandrababu Naidu cabinet, said they were obtaining suggestions from experts on improving health-care sector in the state.

"We have constituted an experts' committee which will meet once in two months and offer suggestions. The Chief Minister has asked the experts from the field to prepare an action plan for improving health-care infrastructure and services," he added.

A super-speciality hospital would be established at each of the 13 district headquarters under public-private partnership or through a trust, he added.
