Reshuffle of police in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh

Around 10 IPS officers may get their postings and transfers on Wednesday

Hyderabad: Around eight senior IPS officers, including A.K. Khan and T.P. Das, reported to Telangana chief secretary on Monday.

Senior IPS officer A.K. Khan was appointed as director-general for the Anti-Corruption Bureau in Telangana on Monday; he was earlier holding the same position in ACB, but for AP.

Another senior officer, T.P. Das, who had approached the Central Administrative Tribunal challenging the appointment of J.V. Ramudu as the head of the police force in Andhra Pradesh, is now allotted to TS cadre, and he too reported to the chief secretary on Monday.

Though his posting was not decided, however being one of the senior-most officers, there are options like the post of the principal secretary for home, or vigilance and enforcement department.

Other officers who reported to Telangana government were additional DGs Sudeep Laktakia, Poorna Chandra Rao and Gopi Krishna and IG-rank officers Srinivas Reddy and V.V. Srinivas Rao as well as DIG T. Murali Krishna.

Around 10 IPS officers may get their postings and transfers on Wednesday. However IPS officer Anjani Kumar, who was allotted to Andhra Pradesh cadre, got a stay order from CAT to continue in Telangana on Monday.
