MLA Thati Venkateswarlu quits YSRC, may join TRS
Thati sent his resignation letter to party president Jagan Mohan Reddy
Khammam: Aswaraopet MLA Thati Venkateswarlu has resigned from the YSR Congress on Monday. Announcing his resignation in Aswaraopet, the MLA said that he sent his resignation letter to party president and Kadapa MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and Telangana unit president P. Srinivasa Reddy through fax. He said that he was treated unfairly by the party and the YSRC cadre were alleging that he joined the TRS though he had not announced it anywhere.
“Telangana party president Ponguleti did not control the cadre when they abused me before him”, he said, adding that the YSRC leaders in the constituency organised party programmes without informing him. He said that he did not get respect in the party though he is a senior legislator. He said that he took the decision because he is unable to continue in the party under these conditions. When asked about his future course of action, he said that he would discuss the matter with his supporters and take a decision. Thati is the second YSRC MLA from Khammam district to resign from the party. Wyra MLA Madanlal had quit and joined the ruling party. On the other hand, sources said that Mr Venkateswarlu is set to join the ruling party on January 9 in the presence of Chief Minister in Hyderabad along with his supporters.
