Belagavi: Youth wing leaders of the  BJP targetted the top leadership of the Congress party at a programme organised before the Yuva Chaitanya Yatra commenced its journey in Belagavi on Tuesday alleging that the Congress party is working in favour of  terrorists.

“The Congress is a sinking ship which is losing its existence in the country. It is time for Sonia Gandhi (Congress president) and Rahul Gandhi (party vice president) to either choose Pakistan or Italy to revive their party there,'' remarked BJP Yuva Morcha national president Anurag Thakur, a former MP.

Addressing party workers, he said after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack that left more than hundred innocent people dead, it is the second attempt by Pakistan to plan and execute a big terror attack in the country which was recently foiled by  Indian coast guard personnel by stopping a ship transporting explosives to India which later self-destructed  to avoid suspicion off the coast of Gujarat.

Mr Thakur said that the tragic Mumbai attack had occurred during  Congress rule at the Centre and in Maharashtra and was the effect of the party’s lopsided  policies when it came to maintaining  relations with Pakistan.

The Congress did not bother about the welfare and safety of Indians while trying to build relations with Pakistan, Mr Thakur alleged.

He lauded the initiative of his Morcha in conducting Yuva Chaitanya Yatra from Belagavi to Mysuru which he said would help create awareness about ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' and the ‘Addiction-free India' campaign.

The party would also focus on getting more people enrolled into its fold during the yatra that will pass through several cities and villages from Belagavi before culminating at Mysuru.

He also outlined the recent work of PM Narendra Modi calling him  an inspirational leader for people across the globe.
