Apple working on a thinner and lighter MacBook Air
The new MacBook Air will sport a 12-inch high-resolution display
Apart from its performance, Apple’s MacBook Air is known for being one of the lightest and thinnest laptops in the market. And now, reportedly, Apple is working on an even thinner and lighter 12-inch MacBook Air, that would be lighter than the present 11-inch MacBook Air.
According to 9To5Mac, the new device trades features like a full-sized USB port, MagSafe connector, and SD card slot, for a thinner and lighter body with a high definition display. Besides that, Apple is also working on the new laptop’s keypad and speakers. Unlike the present model, the new MacBook Air sports an edge-to-edge keypad and the chiclet keys sit noticeably closer to each other. Additionally, changes have been made to the trackpad as well, which is slightly taller than that of the 11-inch MacBook Air. Also, unlike in the present model, the trackpad of the 13-inch laptop does not have the same clicking effect.

The report also suggests that the new model features four redesigned speaker grills right above the keyboard, which also doubles as ventilation holes to keep the device cool.
9To5Mac also reported, that the new Apple MacBook Air only sports a standard headphone jack and a USB Type-C port.
Note: The report above is leaked information, nothing of which has been confirmed by Apple.
