BSF jawans foil infiltration bid, Pakistan says 6 civilians killed in Indian firing
Samba district has witnessed a series of border skirmishes past week
Srinagar: The Border Security Force said on Wednesday that it has foiled yet another bid by Pakistani militants to infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir under the cover of firing from the neighbouring country’s border guards and thick fog.
A brief clash between the two sides took place in Kathua district which with neighbouring Samba district has witnessed a series of border skirmishes past week, killing, at least, two security personnel and two civilians on each side although the BSF claims the death toll among the Pakistani Rangers is four times high than admitted.
Pakistani officials, on the other hand, have claimed that six civilians were killed in the Indian firing and mortar shelling in Zafarwal and Shakargarh sectors along the Sialkot border earlier this week.
