Rs 1 crore for every Andhra Pradesh district to celebrate Sankranti
AP government released Rs 13 crore for state-wide celebrations of Sankranti

Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government on Friday released Rs 13 crore for state-wide celebrations of Sankranti. The state also released Rs 286 crore for the implementation of the Chandranna Sankranti Pathakam (Chandranna Sankranti Scheme). Of the Rs 13 crore released, Rs 1 crore is for each of the 13 districts.
As part of the scheme, the state is aiming to give a Sankranti gift pack to 1.3 crore white ration card holders. The gift pack will contain six essential commodities red gram, palm oil, bengal gram, jaggery, wheat flour and ghee to enable the poor to celebrate Sankranti.
