Sunanda Pushkar murder case: Shashi Tharoor urges 'probe without prejudice'
Tharoor demanded a professional police probe without predetermined outcome
THRISSUR: Former Union minister, Shashi Tharoor, on Friday demanded a fair probe “without political pressure” into the death of his wife, Sunanda Pushkar, though he said he has “a number of questions in my mind and concerns over the way in which the probe had moved so far”.
Mr Tharoor, who completed a two-week ayurveda treatment at Guruvayur, met the media but did not take any questions on police filing a case of murder into his wife’s mysterious death on January 17 last year.

He demanded a professional police probe without predetermined outcome. He offered to face questioning by the Delhi police at an early opportunity to address questions they may have.
“I have written to the police commissioner yesterday in detail. Hope he will have discussions with the investigating officers. It is for him to do what he wants to do,” Mr Tharoor said.

“I was completely taken aback as there is no reason to believe for anyone in the family that foul play would have been involved in her passing. Everyone loved her and there was no question of anyone having reason to harm Sunanda,” he said, adding, “We all would like to see the matter closed and justice done to all, including Sunanda.”
He said many of the things coming out were “unnecessary controversy, disinformation and sometimes outright lies.”
