Anti-graft number to work from today
‘This particular number was given as it is already popular with the masses’
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chnadrasekhar Rao’s special secretary P. Rajashekhar Reddy, appeared confused when asked for the toll-free number to report about corruption. He initially gave the number to the CM orally.
Mr Chandrasekhar Rao who wanted to announce the number from stage, as the officer to write down the number on a piece of paper.
Mr Reddy wrote the number 040-23454071; the number series shows that it belongs to Secretariat.
When contacted, Mr Reddy clarified, “This particular number was given as it is already popular with the masses for lodging Arogyasri complaints.
Though there are no options on this call centre number to lodge graft related complaints, people calling this number should not disconnect the call. They must remain on line till the operators respond.
Since today is Sunday, we could not make the arrangements. It will offer services from Monday.”
