Scandalous CCTV footage shows male coach 'misbehaving' with female table tennis player
Chhattisgarh State Table Tennis Association has suspended both player and coach after the incident
Andhra Pradesh: The Chhattisgarh State Table Tennis Association suspended one of its female players and coach from the upcoming National Games after a scandalous CCTV footage emerged showing some junior players coming out of team’s male coach’s hotel room at around 1 a.m. in the night on December 26, 2014, according to reports.
The incident said to have taken place in Andhra Pradesh during the 76 th National Cadet and Sub-Junior Championship.
The footage shows the male coach dragging a female player out of her hotel room while the girl was seen trying her best to defy the coach’s attempt.
Sharad Shukla, the president of Chhattisgarh State Table Tennis Association told NDTV, "I got a report of this incident on December 31. It occurred on the night of December 26. We found out that the player and coach were fighting over a mobile phone, which was seen on the CCTV footage. This is a fight over a telephone and nothing else."
The president of state table tennis association, Sharad Shukla, told a television channel that he has received the report on December 31. He said that the fight was over a telephone. However, the Chhattisgarh State Table Tennis Association had suspended the female player and the coach till inquiry, he added.
The general secretary of Table Tennis Federation of India, Dhanraj Choudhary, told a news channel that the federation has asked Chhattisgarh association to give a complete report. However, he refused to comment further on the issue.
