The Academy Awards snubbed The Lego Movie Thursday morning, denying the brick flick a nomination for Best Animated Picture. Lego Movie co-director Phil Lord responded to the snub on Twitter with perfect, plastic grace.

This is not a tragedy. Congrats to incredible crew and cast of The Lego Movie, who made a classic.

Perhaps dismissing the Lego film as a big toy advert, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences instead gave the nod to animated movies 'Big Hero 6', 'The Boxtrolls', 'How to Train Your Dragon 2', 'Song of the Sea', and 'The Tale of the Princess Kaguya'.
