Are our women child-bearing machines? Arvind Kejriwal asks BJP
If women have four children, how would they feed them, said AAP chief
New Delhi: Taking a dig at BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj's "four children" remark, Aam Aadmi Chief Arvind Kejriwal flayed BJP leadership on Thursday saying "are our women child-bearing machines?"
"Before the election, BJP leaders promised to provide full safety and security to women, but after poll, this party is running after the women. They are asking our women to give birth to four children. I ask them whether our women are child bearing machines?
"If they (women) do so, how would they feed them?" said Kejriwal who was addressing a public gathering at Timarpur constituency where AAP has fielded Pankaj Pushkar to contest the assembly election.
Kejriwal raised the issues of women security and said "BJP government does not have respect for women at all. These people are not uttering even a single word for the betterment of the women, rather it is advocating that we would not let women to wear jeans and to hold mobile phones in their hands,.... women should not go to school and they should not do the job also."
The former chief minister also took potshot at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said "I was extremely disappointed by hearing his speech at Ramlila Maidan. I expected he would announce opening of schools, hospitals, flyover, but he preferred to term me a Naxalite instead and asked me to go to jungle. I want to ask you people from here whether I am a Naxalite?"
AAP chief also slammed Delhi government's move to demolish slums and ridiculed Modi's agenda of providing house for everyone by 2022.
"You are bulldozing the shanties and saying would give house in 2022. Where would these poor people go? They would be forced to leave Delhi. I tell you either you demolish their shanties after 7 years or give them house now."
