Hyderabad: A security guard on duty at the Nagole Institute of Technology and Science at Kuntulur in Hayathnagar was allegedly murdered by his colleague Satya, following an argument on Thursday night.
The incident came to light when the college staff returned after Sankranti on Friday. The deceased was identified as Naval Kishore, 55, a resident of Hayathnagar. According to the Hayathnagar police, Naval Kishore went to work as usual on Thursday. It is suspected that Kishore and Satya consumed liquor and had an argument over a trivial issue. Following an heated argument, Satya hit Kishore with either a stick or a boulder on his head resulting in his instant death.
The college staff found Kishore lying dead in a pool of blood on Friday morning and informed the police. “When we reached the place Kishore was dead and the accused, in an attempt to destroy evidence, had washed away the blood stains on the body and the floor,” said a police official.
Based on a complaint by I. Balakrishna, member of the college management, a case was booked under Sections 302 and 201 of the IPC and investigated. The CLUES team and dog squad were pressed into action. Satya was picked up and he confessed to the crime during interrogation, sources said.
The victim’s body was shifted to the hospital for a post mortem. Naval Kishore, employed from Sumanth Security Services, was deployed only a month ago.
