Brandex takes over Andhra Pradesh publicity
HyderabadThe Andhra Pradesh government has decided to hand over the publicity of state government schemes to Hyderabad-based company Brandex.

The company has already redesigned the AP government’s monthly magazine, Andhra Pradesh. It had been handling publicity for the irrigation and tourism departments till now. Officials said that the government is now planning to hand over publicity works of all departments to the company.

Brandex comprises a team of strategists, writers, designers and art directors. The state government’s communications advisor Parakala Prabhakar, recently revamped the government’s monthly magazine, which has been brought out by the company this month.

He introduced stories, articles, poetry etc. apart from the usual content of government schemes and the Chief Minister’s programs that had dominated the magazine till last month.

The state government wants to give more publicity to its schemes and programs. To this effect, every department will spend 2 per cent of its total allocated funds towards Information Education and Campaign (IEC). The departments will publish pamphlets designed by Brandex to be distributed to the public explaining their schemes and programs.

The norm is that companies approach each department separately to undertake their publicity work. Brandex had taken the same route for the irrigation and tourism departments.

Sources said that the government has now decided to make the process simpler by handing over the publicity works of all departments to the company.
