Seven arrested for involvement in prostitution racket
Accused used the Internet and social media websites to get the clients
Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police on Monday claimed to have busted a gang allegedly involved in trafficking of women with the arrest of seven persons including two women and two male customers.
Police raided the houses of the prime accused Mohd Irfan and his associate 'Baba' yesterday. Four women were rescued from these places, they said.
Irfan, Baba, one Moin and others ran a prostitution racket from rented flats in Gachibowli, Manikonda and other areas here, using the internet and social media websites to get the clients.
They were also in touch with agents in other cities, including 'Alok', and 'Saleem' in Mumbai and 'Kapil' of Delhi, according to the police.
"They engaged the victims on commission basis and paid them two-way air ticket money to travel to Hyderabad," said a police officer.
Irfan sent photos of victims to Baba through mobile messaging apps while the latter was the contact person for the clients, police said, adding that they paid very little money to the victims after deducting a large commission.
Two women, called Laxmi and Riya, were also a part of the gang and they worked as care takers of the victims and collected money from the clients, police said, adding further probe is on.
