Hyderabad: The Water Board has informed that it would regularise the illegal water supply and sewerage connections in the city. The scheme of voluntary disclosure of illegal connections will be taken up at all the regional offices. The connection charges will be levied as per the plot area, apart from 60 days of water consumption charges. One year’s minimum water consumption charges will be levied as penalty according to the current tariff, said an official.

The Board will also levy Rs 500 towards Green Brigade charges and rain harvesting charges as per board norms. Applicants can enter the details of their existing connections on the Water Board website and find out charges to be paid for regularisation. The process will be done after making a payment through a DD drawn in favour of HMWS&SB from any nationalised bank. The Board also simplified the process of documentation for 15 mm diameter pipe water connections. The applicants can file an affidavit (indemnity bond) on Rs 100 non-judicial stamp along with the electricity bill.
