Man hacks couple to death in Hyderabad

Both parties approached their elders over the issue

The accused, Gali Srinivas of Lingapur resorted to assaulting both Mokanapalli Rajalingu and his wife Devamma, holding them responsible for his sister Shyamala's suicide in 2011.

Karimnagar: Holding him responsible for his sister’s suicide, a youth hacked an elderly man and woman, causing serious injuries to them during a discussion by elders of their community at Lingapur village in Ramagundam mandal on Sunday. The medical condition of the couple is stated to be critical.

The accused, Gali Srinivas of Lingapur resorted to assaulting both Mokanapalli Rajalingu and his wife Devamma, holding them responsible for his sister Shyamala’s suicide in 2011. He alleged that his sister was forced to end her life by consuming poison following harassment of her in-laws, Rajalingu and Devamma.

Shyamala, married Srinivas, son of Rajalingu and Devamma, in 2011. She committed suicide allegedly due to domestic violence. Her father lodged a complaint with Ramagundam police. A court in Ramagundam is hearing the case. Both parties approached their elders over the issue.
