Telangana bags award for skill development & entrepreneurship
3.5 lakh youth got jobs and 7 lakh trained for various skills in Telangana
Hyderabad: Telangana Government on Monday said it has bagged Assocham's award for skill development and entrepreneurship programmes. R V Chandravadan, Labour Secretary, will receive the award in Delhi tomorrow, an official release said here.
It said that 3.5 lakh youth got jobs and 7 lakh trained for various skills in Telangana (over 3 years). Telangana has bagged the award for the best performing State in skill development and entrepreneurship category. It focused on the theme 'Realigning skilling towards Make in India'.
Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, will present the award.
Telangana was selected for the award on 23 parameters in skill development and training programmes for educated rural and urban youth for the last three years. The State is imparting job-oriented skills through specific training programmes for the unemployed, it added.
