Brisbane: After Steven Finn and James Anderosn ripped apart Indian innings with the bowl, Eoin Morgan-led England thumped listless India to secure a 9-wicket win at Gabba on Tuesday.

Here is how the action unfolded.

MS Dhoni-led Team India bundled out India for 153 in 39.3 overs after electing to bat first against England on a pitch that offered assistance to the batsmen. However, England bowlers did not let that hamper their spirits as they sliced through the Indian batting.

India made two changes in the playing with Rohit Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin sitting out and Ambati Rayudu and Stuart Binny replacing them in the team. England, on the other hand, brought in James Anderson in place of injured Chris Jordan.

Opting to bat first, Indian inning never got the solidity and consistency as the Steven Finn and James Anderson demolish the Indian innings sharing 9 wickets between them.

India did not enjoy a bright start as Anderson struck in his second over to dismiss Shikhar Dhawan for one. India then sent Ambati Rayudu at number three, ahead of Virat Kohli.

England continued to stifle the pair of Rahane and Rayudu with the latter playing 20 dot balls by the end of nine overs. Although Rahane tried to get going, playing a few dangerous strokes, he too struggled to put England attack under pressure.

But Ajinkya Rahane did not allow England bowlers to keep him under check for too long as he attacked Stuart Broad smashing him for a six and a four in the tenth over.

However, his charge was cut short when Steven Finn struck in the 13th over to give England their second breakthrough.

England were quick to add two more wickets to their account as Steven Finn dismissed Virat Kohli. While Kohli dominated Australia in the Test series, his struggle against England had not left him till now.

Kohli's wicket brought Raina into the middle. However, the left-hander's idea to have a go at Moeen Ali backfired as Buttler stumped him to give Moeen Ali, his first and England their fourth wicket.

India lost another wicket when Steven Finn ended Ambati Rayudu's stay in the middle after the right-hander had scored 23 in 53 balls.

Stuart Binny, who replaced Ravichandran Ashwin in the playing XI, joined MS Dhoni in the middle. The duo settled some nerves and more importantly got involved in a fifty.

But the powerplay brought India's downfall as Steven Finn dismissed Dhoni and Patel on consecutive deliveries to push India on backfoot once again. The tailenders did not offer much resistance as India could only score 153.

As India were dismissed in 39.3 overs, England came out to bat for 6 overs before going in for lunch. While they lost the wicket of Moeen Ali off Binny, the Poms made an aggressive start.

Ian Bell, who is often slammed for unfit for ODIs, made sure England were off to a positive start scoring at a rapid pace and clearing the boundary ropes at will.

James Taylor provided Bell a good company as the duo left Indian attack clueless. While Bell zoomed towards his 32nd ODI fifty, Taylor too brought up his thrid fifty-plus score. The pair hardly offered any freebees and helped England secure a nine-wicket win.

While Bell remained unbeaten on 88, James Taylor scored 56 as England won the game with a bonus point against their name.
