Fake cops who stole arms, apprehended by Hyderabad police
One of the accused is a security guard
Hyderabad: Panjagutta police arrested two fake cops who stole two rifles from a security guard Bishal at Vasundhara Jewellers in Dwarakapuri in Panjagutta.
The accused people are from Bihar and Hyderabad and their names are yet to be revealed. The cops had got the CCTV images and identified the accused duo, who claimed that they were cops. One of the accused is a security guard.
According to the Panjagutta police, the unidentified person approached a guard who was on duty at the jewellery shop last Thursday at around 8.30 pm.
The accused who wore a cap and a coat, claimed to be a sub-inspector attached with the Narayanaguda police station. First he enquired about one BN. Pandey, a guard who also works in the shop. Bishal replied he was on leave.
“The accused then asked him to hand him over the guns. Bishal first refused to and called Pandey and told him. The accused started mounting pressure on him and threatened him with dire consequences. The scared guard handed over the weapons,” said a cop from Panjagutta station.
The shop owners rushed to the Narayanaguda police and found they were cheated. Based on a complaint, a case was booked and being investigated.
