4 of family killed in road accident
Cops suspect driver slept
Hyderabad: Four persons from a family were killed and five others were injured in a road accident at Kondapaka in Medak district in the early hours of Tuesday.
The Tata Winger vehicle in which the victims were traveling in, fell into a roadside ditch after hitting a culvert. The victims were going back to their hometown in Ramagundem in Karimnagar after visiting Hyderabad.
The victims Md. Raziuddin, 46, who was the van driver, Md. Muzibuddin, 48, Talibuddin, 18, Muskan, 13, died on the spot.
The family members had gone to major tourist attractions in the city like Charminar, Golconda and others on Sunday after visiting their relatives’ house.
“The vehicle was heading towards Ramagundem in the early morning. Raziuddin was driving, and he must have slept off. The vehicle hit a culvert and fell down near Gayatri temple,” said Kukunoorpally sub inspector of police R. Krishna.
According to the police victims were trapped under the vehicle (with registration number AP 16 AZ 4747) before the rescue team arrived.
Police found photographs of tourist places they visited in Hyderabad from their mobile phones and identified the victims before contacting their
relatives.
The five injured were shifted to Uday Hospital in the city for treatment. Thoguta police registered a case and is investigating.
