New Delhi: A day after the BJP projected Kiran Bedi as its Chief Ministerial candidate in Delhi, factionalism hit the party hard.

Angry supporters of BJP state unit president Satish Upadhyay held a protest on Tuesday as he was not named the CM candidate.

Mr Uphadyay issued a statement later saying that he doesn’t want to contest from any of the 70 Assembly seats.

That all is not well within the BJP became quite evident as on Tuesday evening Union minister Harsh Vardhan, who too was hoping to be named as CM candidate, was forced to fall in line and held a joint press meeting with Ms Bedi at Krishna Nagar constituency.

Senior party leaders in Delhi are still seething over “parachute CM Kiran Bedi” being thrust on them. Ms Bedi, however, denied any factionalism.
