The oldest living woman in Scotland says the secret to her longevity is this: Eat your porridge and avoid me. On January 2 as Jessie Gallan celebrated her 109th birthday, she doled out tips and tricks to leading a long, healthy life — and her advice may just be some of the best we've heard!
The centenarian’s secret weapon against aging is, simply 'to avoid men' who she insists are 'more trouble than they’re worth.' In addition to swearing off troublesome men, Gallan says she always gets ;plenty of exercise,' eats porridge every day and avoids marriage.
In fact, the 109-year-old still exercises once a week and makes sure to keep engaged in various activities to keep herself busy at the elderly care home where she lives in Aberdeen, Scotland.Jessie Gallan, who never married, was born in a tiny two-room farm cottage where she slept "top-to-tail" with her five sisters and a brother on a straw mattress. The 109-year-old left home at 13 years old to become a milkmaid. She said she had good jobs throughout her life reported The Daily Mail.
We'd like to wish Happy Birthday, Jessie, and inspiring us.
