Deputy registrar of cooperative societies P. Harini on Thursday approached the State Human Rights Commission against her superior additional registrar M. Surender.

Harini in her complaint filed with the State Human Rights Commission alleged that the Surender was harassing her mentally and threatening her with dire consequences if she refused to obey his verbal orders.

She has also alleged that he had committed frauds worth Rs 7 crore and several First Information Reports (FIRs) were pending against him.

She said even after taking up the issue with the concerned commissioner and the police nothing had happened, and that she had approached the State Human Rights Commission due to that.

In her complaint Harini stated that she is a direct recruit of Group One service and had joined the cooperative department in 2007, and that many women officials of the same cadre were harassed by Surender earlier.
